🧪 System Overview: The "Kneading" Principle

The core challenge with materials like silicone, epoxy, sealants, or battery slurries is that they are too thick to flow. A standard propeller would just spin in a hole, leaving the rest of the material untouched.

The Cole-mixing system typically employs a Dual-Shaft or Planetary mechanism:

- The Stirrer (Anchor/Frame): Rotates slowly to scrape the walls and move the bulk material from the outside in.

- The Mixer (High-Speed Disperser): Rotates rapidly to shear and break down lumps.

The Goal:

- No Dead Zones: Ensure material at the walls moves to the center.

- High Shear: Break down pigments and fillers in thick pastes.

- Kneading: Physically push and fold the heavy mass.

⚙️ Key Components

  1. The Dual-Shaft Drive System

This is the defining feature. It has two independent motors:

- Low-Speed Motor (High Torque): Drives the Anchor Stirrer or Frame Paddle. This acts like a giant spoon, scraping the vessel walls (often with PTFE wipers) and forcing the viscous product into the path of the high-speed blade.

- High-Speed Motor: Drives the Dispersing Blade (Saw-tooth). This creates intense shear force to de-agglomerate particles and ensure a smooth texture.

  1. The Vessel (Tank)

- Jacketed Design: Since these materials are often heated to lower their viscosity for mixing, the tank has a heating/cooling jacket (oil or water circulation).

- Vacuum Capability: Many Cole-style mixers are sealed to allow for vacuum mixing, which removes air bubbles trapped in thick pastes (essential for electronics or optical adhesives).

  1. The Lifting System

- Hydraulic/Electric Lift: The mixing head is heavy. The machine usually features a hydraulic system to lower the head into the tank for mixing and lift it up for easy cleaning and maintenance.

🔄 The Mixing Workflow

  1.  Loading: Raw materials (polymers, fillers, solvents) are loaded into the tank.
  2.  Kneading (Low Speed): The Anchor Stirrer starts, rotating slowly. It scrapes the sides and folds the heavy material, ensuring the whole batch is moving.
  3.  Shearing (High Speed): The High-Speed Disperser is activated. It chops and shears the material, breaking down lumps and distributing pigments.
  4.  Vacuum De-aeration (Optional): If equipped, the vacuum pump is turned on to suck out air bubbles, making the final product dense and uniform.
  5.  Discharge: The finished paste is discharged via a bottom valve or by tilting the vessel.

Summary: The Cole-mixing and stirring mixer is a heavy-duty solution for pastes and slurries. It combines slow-speed scraping (to move the bulk) with high-speed shearing (to refine the texture), ensuring a uniform mix even for materials that are almost solid.
